The park featured visual/noise berms, fields oriented so that people didn't bat into the sun, several community centers, a performing arts center, a commuter rail station, a nature reserve and a botanic garden, among other things.

This project was a competition, in which we did well enough to be commented on, but not well enough to win anything. In any case, it was an interesting design exercise.

The main eliminating factor was apparently a piece of paper with a hole cut out of it. If only lawn showed, the project moved toward final elimination. We did pass this phase, with an inspired field of turf.

These structures were for use by community groups, whoever needed a place to gather for social events, plant sales, weddings... The formal garden structure across the lawn could be a chapel, a place for a musical group, a stage...The open, undefined space between the structures allows festivals with tents, play, and larger events.

This idea was passed over in favor of a museum of some sort, apparently.
